Four Points Seoul Guro Review: Rooms, Breakfast and Value

I stayed at Four Points by Sheraton Seoul Guro for one night in February 2024.
This was not a romantic weekend, a special occasion or an ambitious attempt to explore southwest Seoul.
I was doing a Marriott promotion.
Sometimes hotel reviewing is a glamorous profession.
I checked in late, slept, ate breakfast the next morning, collected a complimentary Dunkin coffee and went home.
And surprisingly, the hotel did its job quite well.
I paid KRW 108,900 for the night, booked a Superior King Room and was upgraded as a Marriott Platinum member to a Premium Room. The interiors felt dated, the location will make little sense for most first-time tourists, and there is not much here to turn the hotel into a destination by itself.
But I slept well, breakfast was better than expected, and at just over KRW 100,000 the compromises were easy to understand.
The problem is that the price is not always that low anymore.
Quick Verdict: Is Four Points Seoul Guro Worth It?
At a low enough rate, yes. At around KRW 200,000, I would think much harder.
Four Points Seoul Guro is primarily a business hotel for Guro Digital Complex and southwest Seoul.
That is important context.
If you are traveling to Seoul for palaces, Myeongdong, Bukchon and the usual first-time sightseeing route, I would choose a more central location. If your office happens to be in Guro, Gasan or the surrounding business districts, the hotel suddenly makes considerably more sense. Marriott currently describes the hotel as a three-minute walk from Guro Digital Complex Station on Line 2, while Airport Limousine Bus 6004 stops directly in front of the property.
The hotel itself is straightforward: rooms, restaurant, fitness center, meeting facilities and the basic services expected from Four Points.
No resort ambitions have been detected.
Location: Excellent for Guro, Not for Everyone Else
The hotel is located at 72 Digital-ro 32-gil, Guro-gu, in the middle of Guro Digital Complex. Marriott positions it primarily around G-Valley, one of Seoul’s major business districts.
For business travelers, this can be excellent.
For tourists, it depends heavily on the itinerary.
Line 2 makes places such as Hongdae and Gangnam reasonably accessible without complicated transfers, but you are still starting from the southwestern side of Seoul. I would not book this hotel simply because it happened to be cheaper than something in Myeongdong and assume the location makes no difference.
It does.
The surrounding neighborhood is also very obviously an office district, with restaurants and bars serving the weekday workforce.
Premium Room: An Upgrade Without Much Extra Space
I booked a Superior Guest Room with one king bed.
As a Marriott Platinum Elite member, I was upgraded to a Premium Room.
Both room types are around 30 square meters, so this was not the kind of upgrade where opening the door suddenly reveals another postal district.
The practical difference was mainly the higher-floor position and a more open view.
The room itself felt dated.
That did not surprise me entirely. The property previously operated as the Best Western Premier Guro Hotel before reopening as Four Points by Sheraton Seoul, Guro in May 2019, and some parts of the hardware still feel more like an older business hotel than a newly built Marriott property.
The furniture and finishes were not particularly memorable.
Fortunately, neither was anything uncomfortable about the bed.
I slept peacefully, which was more important on this particular stay than whether the bedside table had achieved contemporary design excellence.
The Old Bathroom Has One Unexpected Advantage
The bathroom was probably the clearest sign of the hotel’s age.
Its design felt much more traditional and residential than the bathrooms found in newer midscale hotels.
But there was a surprise:
a bathtub.
I normally consider older bathrooms a disadvantage, but there are fewer and fewer reasonably priced business hotels in Seoul offering a proper bathtub.
So the dated hardware managed to turn one of its weaknesses into a minor advantage.
Progress is complicated.
Marriott Platinum Benefits
I was Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite during this stay.
For my welcome gift, I selected breakfast, which turned out to be a good decision. Under Marriott Bonvoy’s current Elite Welcome Gift rules, Platinum members and above at Four Points can choose 500 points, an amenity, or restaurant breakfast for the member and one guest.
I would not put much weight on the Premium Room upgrade itself. Marriott upgrades are availability-based, and because the Premium and Superior rooms are similar in size, the benefit was mostly a better floor and view rather than significantly more space.
The breakfast, however, had measurable calories.
That was much easier to appreciate.
Breakfast at Table32: Better Than Expected
Since I had checked in late and had almost nothing else planned at the hotel, breakfast became the main event.
I approached it with the solemnity appropriate to a person who occasionally chooses hotels partly according to what happens between 7 and 10 in the morning.
Breakfast is served at Table32, currently from 07:00 to 10:00 daily.
My expectations were not particularly high.
This was, after all, a roughly KRW 110,000 business-hotel stay.
The buffet was considerably more substantial than I expected.
There was enough variety to put together a very substantial breakfast, and I concentrated heavily on the meat section because apparently balance is something that can be addressed at lunch.
Was it a destination hotel breakfast?
No.
Was it unusually good in the context of what I paid?
Absolutely.
This was probably the strongest part of my stay.
Facilities: Everything You Need, Not Much You Travel For
The hotel currently offers a fitness center, meeting facilities, Table32 and Cafe & Bar72, along with the practical services expected from a business-focused Four Points.
There is no swimming pool.
I did not use the gym during this stay, and given that I arrived late and left after breakfast, I would be manufacturing expertise if I tried to review it in detail.
The broader point is simple: Four Points Seoul Guro is built around practical business travel, not spending an entire weekend inside the hotel.
That is perfectly reasonable.
It just needs to be reflected in the price.
The Dunkin Ending
When I checked in, I was given a complimentary Dunkin coupon.
There was a Dunkin location at the property, so after breakfast I picked up an iced Americano before leaving. A current Marriott breakfast package still includes a discount coupon for Dunkin Four Points Guro, so the shop remains part of the hotel’s current ecosystem even though my complimentary coffee coupon was a 2024 benefit.
I slept.
I ate.
I acquired coffee.
My promotional elite night posted.
Mission accomplished.
Is Four Points Seoul Guro Good Value?
This is where my view of the hotel changes significantly depending on the rate.
I paid KRW 108,900 in February 2024.
At that price, I liked it.
The room was dated, but it was reasonably spacious. I slept well. I received a higher-floor Premium Room as a Platinum member. Breakfast was surprisingly solid.
That is an easy package to forgive for around KRW 110,000.
When I checked weekday rates for September 2026, however, I found prices around KRW 200,000.
At that level, the calculation becomes very different.
A dated bathroom is charmingly practical at KRW 108,900.
At KRW 200,000, it is mostly just a dated bathroom.
Unless you specifically need Guro Digital Complex, I would compare other Marriott and full-service options before paying that much. My Four Points Seoul Gangnam review is a useful comparison: it is also a practical Four Points with a strong breakfast, but the neighborhood and sightseeing value are very different.
Final Verdict: 7.3/10
Four Points Seoul Guro did exactly what I needed it to do.
The location made sense for its business district. The room was quiet enough for a good night’s sleep. The bathtub was an unexpected bonus. Breakfast exceeded my expectations.
The interiors were also clearly aging, the leisure facilities were limited, and the neighborhood would not be my first recommendation to most tourists visiting Seoul.
My 7.3/10 reflects the stay I actually had in 2024 — particularly the KRW 108,900 rate.
At that price, it was a solid deal.
At around KRW 200,000, I would be much less enthusiastic.
That is perhaps the simplest way to understand Four Points Seoul Guro:
a perfectly competent business hotel whose greatest luxury used to be its price.
